Surface Water Reservoir & Piped Water Supply in Ukhia and Teknaf, Cox's Bazar

The Surface Water Reservoir & Piped Water Supply project was undertaken to strengthen water supply infrastructure and improve access to reliable water services in Ukhia and Teknaf, Cox's Bazar.

The project was developed under the Emergency Assistance Project for Water Supply & Sanitation at Ukhia and Teknaf in Cox's Bazar District, an important initiative implemented by the Department of Public Health Engineering (DPHE).

The project focuses on the development of integrated water infrastructure comprising surface water storage and reservoir facilities together with piped water supply systems. By combining water storage and distribution infrastructure, the project supports a more organized and reliable approach to supplying water to communities within the project area.

Integrated Water Storage and Distribution Infrastructure

The project incorporates a Surface Water Reservoir designed to support the storage and management of available water resources. Reliable water storage is an essential component of a sustainable water supply system, helping maintain water availability and support consistent distribution according to community demand.

The associated Piped Water Supply System provides the infrastructure required to transfer and distribute water from the storage and treatment facilities to designated service areas.

Together, the reservoir and piped network form an integrated water supply solution capable of supporting communities where reliable water infrastructure is particularly important.
